In the early 1990’s the City pointed skateboarders to an asphalt pad under the I-95 overpass in South Philadelphia’s FDR Park. What started as a couple City-made obstacles, barely skateable, has expanded into one of the most intense, skater-funded and built concrete skateparks in the world.
Every element in the park was made with the blood, sweat, and tears of local skaters determined to make their own vision a reality. To this day, the park is typically packed with both locals and people from far and wide who have come to skate the internationally reknowned terrain.
This page will grow as I get more photos. Also check out Bryan Lathrop’s FDR photo album.
